HOW TO SHOOT BETTER FISHEYE PHOTOS

Use your fisheye for its advantages.

Fisheye lenses give you the unique ability to capture your subject and alot of CLOSE BACKGROUND DETAIL. Use this to compose unique shots instead of just using the fisheye for the sake of it being different. The shot below for example is only achievable with the capabilities of a fisheye lens. The subject is in motion, all in the frame, we get a sense for how high up he is and for the set of dirtjumps and scenery. It feels uniquely dynamic because the viewer is pushed into the action.

Get to know your subject and plan your shot.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
